The Virginia Chapter was founded by Christina Childs in honor of her father Robert who was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer and passed away within 6 weeks. Robert's death was a tragedy for Christina's family because he was the patriarch and the "glue" for the family. Robert served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, earned his B.A. in Business Management from Johnson and Wales University, worked for the federal government for 21 years and then retired. He was married and had four beautiful children and a host of grandchildren. He gave back to the community in many ways and was appointed as Chairman of the Deacon Board at his church. Robert was loved by so many and is very missed. Christina founded the Debbie's Dream Foundation Virginia Chapter to fight against stomach cancer, help others find answers, and to be an advocate for their health. Christina's father wanted her to make a difference, and she is honored to have found a home with DDF to do just that. Christina resides and works in Northern Virginia, is married, and has two beautiful daughters ages 7 and 8 years old.
