Robert Martin II, MD, FACS, PhD

Dr. Martin is associate professor of surgery and director of the Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He obtained his doctor of medicine from the University of Louisville, where he is now a doctoral candidate, and completed a surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York City. His clinical interests focus on the multiple disciplinary care and surgical management of patients with upper gastrointestinal malignancies. His research focuses on genetic predispositions to upper gastrointestinal malignancies. Dr. Martin has served as principal investigator or co-investigator in numerous trials. He has written or co-written many articles, book chapters, and abstracts and is a frequent invited lecturer.
